I highly doubt you can do either; unless with some serious work.

Take your trunk off, take the tranny off throw a tire back there for padding, and strap it down.

even if you take the trunk off its not gonna open up the hole much. maybe through the passengerside door without the seat in there. or take apart the motor

Get some measurements from the owner. Then measure your trunk. My friend put a d series on the passenger side of his 95 coupe before.

it should fit, but your trunk won't be able to close.

If no one is coming with you take out the passenger seat it will fit right there just be sure to stick a tire under it for padding and strap it down so it wont slide around your car will have enough torque and stopping shouldnt be a problem.
If someone is coming with you go down there bring a socket wrench with you remove the rear seats before leaving when you get down there remove the passenger seat and slide it in through there into the back seat. then reinstall the passenger seat again have a tire for padding and strap it down tightly or your going to be getting new seats and possibly even some back surgery when seats are removed there is alot more room than expected. But if you can fit five people in a civic the engine shouldt be a problem remember it is just the motor no tranny it isnt going to weigh as much as you guys are thinking.

I'd like to see you loose 45 cubic inches in rod stroke.

That's like saying a D15 is a destroked H22.

He has a truck. He needs to pick up the engine for his truck. The truck gets horrible gas mileage. He wants to take his car to save on gas.

God, you kids need to learn to ******* read.
