Default my 3g civic hatch trailor

i bought a hatch a while back with frontend damage ,i was going to fix it but the car was to far gone ..So instead of junking the car i stripped it and made a trailor

ive sand blasted the hole bottom the car patched and primed and then painted

here are a few pics

here are a few recent pics

im not likeing the 3/4inch ply wood ,so im most likely going to just put sheet metal like i originaly planned

I don't see any reason not to do a solid axle.

it'd have to get custom cut to size, but I don't think it would be very expensive.
Maybe $160 total. Thats about what I paid for my tandem jet-ski trailor axle and wheels/tires. it was 77" spring center/spring center.
So for that little thing, it can't be more than that.

Do it

i really like it, it is rare to see, but you are def. not the first to do this. Maybe the first with the ea chassis, but i have seen a 79 cvcc civic hacked the same way....

anyway awesome project

Maybe change out the eibachs for the stock springs? Or play with the bumpstops...look for a harder progressive one...maybe from 92-up honda

i guess i worded that wrong ,i want to have it springless
i was actually thinking about just useing the stock axle and just welding in heavy tubing ,in place of the struts ,like inclose the hole for the strut it self with some 1/4inch plate and then weld the square tubing to the plate and then the axle.

I was told that it would bounce all over the place ,which i can see ,but i dont think it would be that bad to the point of not being able to control it ...

oh really i never seen any other honda trailors ,got pics ??? ,oh well i think its still cool lol and i know for a fact im the only one with one around here

just use the strut maybe and slip a piece of steel tubing over shaft then everything will mount up like stock just the top mount will rest against the tube...weld it all up so it doesn't move around

i wouldnt make the suspension solid. like you said, it's going to bounce all over the place.

why not just get stock shocks and some 500-700lbs springs?? i'm unfamiliar w/ the suspension assembly on those cars so i cant really suggest anything else....

very cool idea tho. looks so funny lolllll

yeah it def looks diff lol i get a kick everytime i look at the first pic of it behind the crx hehe ,the rear suspension is panhard bar with strut spring combo my buddy has some old spring off his chevy truck ,im going to see if maybe they will fit with some modding ,i dont really want to put too much into this thing everything that has been used like the steel was recycled from the front of the car and off a truck bed my buddy and i cut off his chevy ,the square tubing was sitting at my old place when i moved in (it was left by the people that lived there prior)

i know for a fact that the spring is wider then the civic ones ,but maybe i can mount them too the out side of the tower and still use the stock struth a widened base ,

the only thing that cost me was the welding wire and the body filler and glaze

well ive been useing the trailor to haul crap to the dump and the gravel roads beat the crap out of the front ,there is alot of drag and my malibu ,burns a ton fuel because of it

do you guys have any ideas for what i can do to ,make it more aerodynamic without having to change the hole frontend???
like add some sort of bolt on thing to divert the air up and over

i dont know anything really about trailors and what out here so any help would be greatly appreciated
