Hood prop.......(WTF)
Just had to buy OEM hood prop from honda, and cannot figure out how it actually is attached inside the hood.
I have the clamp in where it rests, I have the part that clips into the under side near the front left headlight, but cant get the prop into the gromet....
So staring at the engine bay, I'm trying to get the rod into the RIGHT SIDE clamp...just use force?

pics......

Yellow Circle: Obviously the end of the prop that connects into the chassis
Red Circle: the plastic piece that the hood prop is supposed to slide into....?

Purple Circle: The prop isnt in yet...but judging by some ****, i cant get it to lay NOT on the radiator cap...
Blue Circle Also laying on the radiator clamp....
Honestly i'm laughing my *** off that I cant even install a hood prop. I'm sure i can readjust the radiator clamp so its not sticking UP, but...WTF AM I DOING WRONG HERE>>>>>

it looks like the back end of your hood prop is missing a larger circumference retainer (that retains the plastic fitting that holds the hood prop to the car from sliding off the end) you have to insert the two together keeping the plastic fitting spread as you turn it/screw it in. but like I said the back end of your hood prop looks funky to me - you sure it's from a prelude?
wait wait wait.. if it's all new oem ****, then it must be right (unless someone sold you the wrong prop) do NOT just use force, insert the two together, with plastic gromet already around the hood prop. screw the grommet in, while holding it slightly spread. - if that makes sense.
hahaha.

so in picture #1, do i need a plastic piece around the hood prop where the yellow circle is?
Because theres already a plastic piece inside the frame of the car where the red circle is illustrated?

yes get that plastic piece out of the rad support, then put the plastic piece on your hood prop, and install the two together at the same time. somewhat screwing the plastic piece in. then it has a tab part that gets inserted to retain it from spinning. hope that makes sense.
makes perfect sense, but i'm pretty sure when I try to remove the plastic piece from the radiator support, its going to snap/break.
I wish I had another prelude to look at how its set up in there, can anyone shoot a picture of where their hood prop is connected inside the radiator support?
