So the cold hot lever was on cold tonight, and i slid it over to hot and half way through...POP. The slider is now loose. Are the button lever assemblies the same between models, or are the Type R's different. The only reason I ask is it looks like the plastic and the bottons kinda look metalic and not just black. Or are they all like this...or did some girl put shimmer in my car...lol.

Anyway, I guess I need a new one if anyone has one. I guess I need to know if the carbon trim comes off. If so I can just go to a wrecking yard and get one and swap the trim.

Check the cable attached to the slider underneath the passenger footwell. It sounds like you somehow disconnected it from the mechanism, if you did you can reattachit. Also, in generall all the climate control units are interchangeable. You just need to look for one with or without AC depending on if your car has it or not.

 

Ya, its connected. I manually slide that lever toc hange it from hot/cold. It's definately broken at the slider. Thanks for the info though.

I looked at it closer, and there is some metallic in the controls itself. Are LS, GSR's the same way? Or are they all black?

 

they are all the same execpt got th 98+ buttons and some parts of the trim is gunmetal while the older ones are just plain black
