2000 hatch tailights vs. 97 hatch taillights
I got a 97 hatch and my brother has a 2000 hatch. His tailights are "white" and mine are "red". His hatch is silver, mine is red. Would the 2000 "white" tailights look good on my red 97 hatch? Does anyone have pics of this?
Thanks!
Thanks!

Not really. unless I'm misreading he wants the red/white tails from a 00 on his amber tailed 97.
It's an easy swap. I think on the coupes you have to change the harness, but on the hatch you should be fine. Plug and play.
IMO The red/whites look much better.

For both the coupe and the hatch swaps you'll want the new taillights with the matching harnesses.
If you get 2000 taillights and use your 1997 harnesses you'll have white turn signals.

Wrong.
Red, white and amber - "96-98" taillights. There are USDM versions and versions for other countries too. The JDM ones will be missing a reflector that the USDM ones have.
Red and white - "99-00" taillights. There are USDM versions and versions for other countries too. The JDM ones will be missing a reflector that the USDM ones have.
Neither color combination is exclusive to a certain cuontry unless said contry only had those years of Civics available.

You bet I will, my brother owes me. I gave him my wheels for free. (cuz they're 17's but **** they were $700 wheels.)
Get this though, he is 15 (not old enough to drive yet and he has a 2000 hatch).

I'd highly recommend the matching harnesses. See, the turn signal bulbs are the only things different between the '96-'98 harnesses and the '99-'00 harnesses. While you can find amber turn signal bulbs for the '99-'00 harnesses or clear turn signal bulbs for the '96-'98 harnesses, it's difficult to find them at any local auto parts store and they are sometimes even more expensive.
Basically, if you pick up the harnesses at the same time (they often come with the taillights anyway) then you'll be saved the hassle in the future of finding just the right replacement bulbs.
A set of '99-'00 hatch taillights with harnesses should set you back around $100-150. Usually even when they sell without harnesses they go for the same amount.
