I've got basic bolt-ons: H/E/I and Hondata S300 (untuned). But I would think that, even untuned, I should be doing better than that, right? The motor is a 97 JDM ITR from HMotorsonline and runs without any CELs. I ran twice at the track and came out with high 14's. I know, it's pretty disappointing. I also had my cousin run it a few times (just in case it was me...but, no) and he's coming up with similar times. Besides a good tuning, can anybody suggest what can be the problem? Thanks for any advice in advance.

Yeah, it's running fine. And I did the swap myself with help on using/converting from OBDII to OBDI. I have Vtec kick in at 5500rpm.

 

How is the compression. What ECU are you running. Break down your setup and see if we can see any problems.

 

The compressions are normal across the board. I'm running Hondata S300. All bolt-ons: H/I/E, LS fuel pump, eclipse fuel injectors. Pretty basic setup.

If all you have is I/H/E and your using the factory ECU you really wont pull that much out of the tune. What are your 60' times?

Ummm... 60 foot times usually explain how well you're launching, not reaxtion times which you seem to be listing.

Those two should be facotred in.

I know my 1992 Si with full interior ran 13.9@100.97mph on STREET tires with a stock B18C5 with only mods being intake, exhaust, and a Kenji-chipped P28 untuned making 175whp. This was at 800ft. above sea level, and the car weighed 2289lbs w/o my 150lb. *** in at the time.

 

Sorry, it's a Hondata S300 w/ dataloging (plug n play)... Well, this ain't too much help.. I'll stick with my previous assumption of a good ol' tuning.

 

Are you using street tire? What kind of tires and size. Do you have full sub speakers and body kit? Okay i was just joking about the body kit part.

 

Why do you have the s300 but no tune.

 

Yeap, just good ol' stock street tires & full interior (nothing taken out). That was last year. I am planning to take it to the shop and get it dyno tuned. I want to see what the actual whp will be.

 

What kind of brand tires and sizes?

Why do you automatically assume you're better than me? I never said I was the best launcher ever. I just figured that with your times and setup, that you had to be quite abysmal at launching.

What speed are you trapping at? What's your 60?

Are you serious? I guess you dont know how the track works. Just because you have a good reaction time doesnt mean your gonna run a fast quarter mile. The time dosent start until you actually leave the beam. You could sit there for 30 seconds and run a 10 second quarter mile. Your reaction time would just be 30 seconds, but your E.T. would be 10. What you really need to tell us is stuff like your 60 foot time, or mph.

word very true eran...there could also be other things wrong but driving is a major part of you 1/4 times

 

if you have an si model your cars gonna be slower becaus of the weight, if your brakes are bigger its gonna slow you down from rotating mass, if you have a ssytem its gonna slow you down, if you have big heavey rims its gonna slow you down, if you have shitty tires its gonna slow you down, if you suck at driving its gonna slow you down, if you have a shitty header/intake/exhaust/cat its gonna slow you down, if your untuned its gonna slow you down so how about a little more on your setup? ie:everything i said

 

what eclipse injectors are you running?? 450cc?? If you are running thoes are you running a resistor box? Plus you are running injectors on no tune......rich is a bitch.....

My buddies type ahhhhrrrrrrrr. With a few bolt ons hit 13.3. stock internals with I/E and some hella dented headers. So it isnt the motor it must be the............................................... ........................................
