Default Brakes again

I need to bring up the topic of brakes again. My 95 EX Coupe will be the patient and I the doctor. I have ordered Brembo Blanks for a 5th Gen V6/Wagon from Colletti (thanks for the recommendation) along with lines for my Accord (the expensive six line kit). My confusiuon comes from the fact that in most of the archived posts there's no mention of what gen accord the swap is going onto. I have no idea what the floating rotor and hub over axle thingamabob means.

I saw two different posts where one guys mentioned using calipers from a V6/Wagon Accord and some other dude said he used calipers from a 92-95 Acura Legend. I want to use the dual piston calipers. I went to Autozone to order some calipers and there are different part number for different Legend in those years. WHAT CALIPERS DO I NEED? I need to know asap because everything is coming and the A-ride needs to be ready to head cross country in 13 days!!!

What do I need to know about axle-nuts and bearings and and hubs etc...

thanks so much

it is for the 4/5th gen, i wouldnt go to the two piston caliper b/c it will throw off your proportioning

use the v6/wagon/itr calipers, they are the same part number

It seems that everyone is doing this brake upgrade these days... Unfortunately my Colletti order is still on hold since the HP+ pads are on back-order...

FYI, V6/wagen/itr calipers are single piston. Legend is dual piston. Its something like 92-95 LS and 93-96 GS but dont quote me on that.

Try Manhonda.com There site lists Stillen SS lines 4-line kit for $99 which I ordered. And for some reason, maybe because they were on back order or something, they sent me the Goodridge SS 6-line kit which I've only seen for over $150. So I think they made a mistake or purposely hooked me up with better lines because I waited for 3 weeks.

can you guys explain something to me...i thought the whole point of this swap was to do the whole larger rotor and dual piston caliper? and i know there are other reasons too...but what do you mean when you say it will throw off the proportions? please explain..im confused...

Your brake proportioning valve determines how hard to squeeze the front calipers as opposed to the rear calipers. Usually, its around 70% front, 30% rear. When changing so many major brake parts, the proportions may be thrown off making either the fronts or rears grip harder causing problems.

so we should just stick with the v6/wagon/itr calipers instead of the legend calipers?

Depends on your situation and purpose for them. If you can lock up your wheels right now and your just a street application, you dont need anything. I guess the ultimate would be Legend calipers but for the ideal situation, might need an aftermarket adjustable proportioning valve.

Dont do it just for the sake of doing it. But if you want an upgrade, go with the V6 calipers and rotors.

They are suggested for hard street driving, and mild AutoX use.

I believe the 95s use a pressed rotor, so the accord rotors should be good for you. I have a 6th gen, in which the rotors are not pressed on.

I'm going with legend calipers cuz a friend did the upgrade on his 'lude and his stopping distance decreased.

Can you adjust the brake proportioning ?
