Default I dont believe all these stolen car threads are real.

Just my personal opinion.

I want to remind everyone to make sure YOUR car is safe and that this is the INTERNET.. dont always believe what you read.

Show sympathy and compassion, then take it with a grain of salt, no need to lose sleep, or sell your car.. for something that might just be a post with no merrit, and may not even be true.

I am truly sorry for the people who have lost your cars to real thieves.

And Fawk You to the people who pull scams and post it here to make it look more legit.

R34 GT-R IP 205.188.200.48
delainr IP 205.188.200.164

Both of those are AOL proxy addresses. These are 2 different users that both use AOL.

Just because they don't post often or they have a low post count? If i had 5 posts, that doesnt make me less of an honest person. Or if I had 3,000 posts, then im trustworthy just cuz I've been on HT for a while? What if they just found out about the board?

Sorry, but I feel insulted. Especially when cop kept implying that I or some of my friends knew where my car was. Why? Because I'm an asian, and I fit the sterotype of some street racer punk? The ******* cop made me pick up the phone and CALL my friends. After i specifically told him that they were all away at school. What a ******* **********. And then later on kept harassing me about a speeding ticket I got.

"What happened in albany?"
"I got a speeding ticket."
"WHY DID THEY RUN UR VIN THEN?!?!!?!!"

(like i have any ******* clue about police procedure) "Uh..I don't know?"
"They should've ran ur plate, not ur VIN. Are you telling me the truth?!?!?!?!"
"Yes, I got a speeding ticket."
"I'm going to call the officer, he better tell me the same"
"ok bye"

what the ****. Police are supposed to be civil servants.."to serve and protect"

not to threaten and intimidate. Granted if someone was telling a lie, they'd get flustered and maybe **** up...but after leaving, you dont have to call me and keep threatening me and ****. That's just

edit: oh yeah, and posting a thread on HT.com about the car being stolen will really convince the police and insurance you're telling the truth.

Well, they posted it on an internet forum, he MUST be telling the truth...

i just posted it because it was easier to link people to a thread than explain 5 billion times what happened to my car.

Thanks for the reply..

I posted this just to make sure we all remember that not all that is posted here should be taken to heart.

You people are so quick to jump on the bandwagon and make a thread 15 pages of "I'm sorry" when the people who are here to get technical help watch their thread go to page 5 in 20 minutes, with no replies..

maybe we should.. well, nevermind, thats not going to happen.

i agree with that, but then there is the fact that perhaps all the people that are capable of expressing sympathy for the victim might not know the answer to a technical question

What I don't understand is what is the motivation for someone to lie about having their Type-R stolen? I just don't follow the logic. Maybe some are made up, but why?

As far as I'm concerned the number, even if it happens, is insignificant compared to the real number of thefts. I don't post a lot here because of the very same reason. Why risk saying something that might increase the odds of me loosing my car? However, you can bet that if it was stolen, I'd be in here with a very long post with some very choice words for people who think this is all about nothing.

This is just *my* opinion.

I also don't understand what the motivation would be for posting a fake story about an R being stolen. Sure, there are a lot of posts about ITR's being stolen... That's because they get stolen ALL THE TIME...

Just my opinion, but I think a fake ITR theft story is almost as improbable as someone who didn't go to the EXPO starting an EXPO thread with pictures... Specifically since all of us mention which # it was when it's stolen. There's a pretty good chance of somebody calling the bluff it's not their car...
