Default could two identical cars except one has less torque be faster

i know that horsepower is torque at speed, just assume horsepower is the same everything like weight gear ratios aerodynamic properties. what im wondering is what outweights the other. knowing that to accelerate a car the weight of the car and the rotational enertia must be overcome. so at a certain driveshaft speed the car with more torque would have more rotational enertia, also what if this extra "weight" was balanced, knowing that this figure is relatively small or the outcome it would play in the cars accereration, is it guaranteed that the car with more torque would be faster. personally i just think torque makes a car hard to accelerate.

would a main relay if going bad decide to work occasionally, and what else would it do.

No, having more power (torque) isn't going to slow you down.

Since I feel stupider, I might as well contribute something, so here's a fat lady eating cake.

wow torque makes a car hard to accelerate... thats a new one to me. sounds like someone has never rode in a car with a V8. my pontiac has close to 400 lb/ft of torque it can pull out in fourth gear and can pull harder in fourth at 50 mph than most hondas can in second at the same speed. so go take a ride in a muscle car and see what youve been missing. and danmdevries im sorry but that pic is wrong on sssoooo many levels.

Your post made sense all the way up to the end. No actually it didn't, but i love your attempt at throwing a completely unrelated question in there...

General discussion "Personally i think torque makes a car hard to accelerate" LOL..... More torque = more power; therefore more torque = makes car go slow?

jesus christ, i want to see his car. It probably has all these torque reducing mods done to it. I think torque is what makes everything besides my crx fun (i like to rev ther ***** out of it) im still baffled by this, it is almost as bad as hey peep someone put something in my gas tank....remember that one

All that horsepower is, is the "effectiveness" of torque through the rpm range.

The more hp you have, the more "effective" the torque is at that given RPM.

If torque was affected by the outcome of horsepower's diameter squared, then yes, it will slow down the car.

Can someone take some torque away from my Suburban? The V8 is scary.
