My k20z3 swap into my 96 hatch with *pics*
hey,
I am new to Honda-tech but not so much to the scene. I purchased my civic hatch November of 06 and since then my car has been molded into what it is today. it came completely stock. I knew I was going to modify the car so I first bought some tanabe Sustec Pro S-0C coilovers which besides the narrow band of height adjustability it made my car handle a million times better. from there I purchased a set of Advan RG-IIs and wrapped those with a cheap set of Kumho Ecsta ASTs. I was running low on funds. From there some random braces (c-pillar brace and lower tie bar) then the single slammer was beginning to become a bit under powered for my liking so the search for a motor began. I spent a couple months saving money and researching ideas for motors. S/C B18C, LS/V-tec, idk the list goes on but my whole plan for the car was to make the car a time attack(ish) car plus a daily driver. i started looking into doing a k series. i met a friend of mine who had a k'd EG he ranted and raved about the set up and from then i was sold even though I have only seen homemade movies of peoples cars with K swaps but I was intrigued by the stock factor where the motor is near stock and it will produce as much if not more than a built B-series motor. But the stock factor gives the car more reliability which is my first concern considering this is my only car. I came across an opportunity to purchase a 06 k20z3 from a local Car shop. I scrounged up as much money as I could and combined it with some money that I had borrowed from the international bank of Dad. I got the motor to my house and started gathering parts. Because the motor used Throttle by Wire I needed K-pro and a new 66mm BDL Throttlebody. Along with the throttlebody I got a R*crew race header, Throttlebody adapter, plug and play harness, Axles, and Fuel Rail. Hasport mounts were needed along with a 02 Rsx type S engine harness. The swap is not complete but its getting closer and closer everyday. I just thought I would post a thread on my car. Hope you guys enjoy! Let me know if you have any questions about the car.

yea im using kpro. i needed to because the stock motor uses the throttle by wire and i needed to accommodate for transfer to throttle by cable.

yeah the first pic is a nice one, especially if you still have those steelies, you should unbolt the front lip throw those steelies on and ride at night untill you find like a stock mustang or something.
