SI had the B16A2 160 hp, really short geared tranny, rear disc brakes, alloy SI wheels, where as the EX came with a D16Y8 127hp, and steel wheels, other than those they both came with sunroof and all power options i beleive,

just to be a little more detailed, the Si has a little stiffer springs, 26mm sway bar up front as to the 22mm front sway bar on the ex. The si has the 13mm rear sway which the ex does not. Also the comes with the OEM front lip (which was a option as well on the Si) the Si has basically the same seats as the ex but the fronts has that squareish hole on the two front head rests.

The ex came with power everything, which is a very good base car to start with. If your planning on modding this car like crazy including a gsr+ swap then i'd get a the ex. I myself have the ex which is basically converted to a Si, other than the motor and sway bars i've got a Si clone haha.

Si's come in Milano Red, Electron Pearl Blue, and Flamenco Black Pearl. I used to own a 2000 EX before upgrading to an EM1 FBP and I noticed that the black was quite different. SI FBP is a little more "greener" (best word I could think of) than the EX black. Also, clusters are different. Si's have strut bar and a B16 motor. Si's have amber lights. Correct me of i'm wrong, but I think the suspension is different as well.

I have a 2000 EBP...

If your thinking about doing an engine swap, there's really no need to buy an Si, other than bragging rights or color.

^^ What would you brag about? Going .6 seconds faster than an ex? or that your car is 10x more likely to get stolen in that color?

i think the si has alot more to offer than an ex besides the motor but you could also have all the good stuff from an si on a ex for less than the price difference. i have an ex though and i kinda wish it was an si

just get the EX, its going to be much cheaper, just swap all the SI parts on, then you wont have to pay for the SI name or the insurance for it, plus SIs get stolen alot more than the EXs

Good point. Insurance is much cheaper.

Besides, the Si is a porker.

Real men get Dx/cx hatches.

Just the fact that you have an si... They're kinda getting harder to find, seem to be getting stolen more often. It's cool when you find a clean one.

I love mine

The difference is that EX owners try to convert there cars to Fake SI's, while an SI owner has to make sure nobody jacks his car so the EX owner can't do the fake SI conversion. Another difference that nobody has mentioned is the front SI grill, its a honeycomb (CTR style) grill. I'll never regret buying my EBP SI back in 1999, and i'll never get rid of it...

"This just in, stock civics are all slow."

(regarding 92-00)

yes, really the big advantage the Em1 has over an EJ8 is the better gearing. An equally geared y8 would keep up with a b16.

Yes.

By chance are you asking about the USDM models or the Canadian models? The Canadian Si model also comes in silver (the Canadian "Si" is equivalent to the USDM "EX" model). In Canada the EM1, which the US market calls an Si, is called an SiR instead.

Once again I will post this table I made. Note that this is for the '99-'00 USDM models.
