hey, i am going to be buying a crx si pretty soon and if i want to do an engine swap what is the most powerful engine i can swap in it, the guy that i am going to buy this from also has a B18B1 out of an integra that he has never put in the car yet..what engine would you guys recommend getting? Thanks in advance

 

there is a great amount of swaps you can do to a honda, it all depends on the time and cash you are willing to spend. If you go with that B18B, you can always get a VTEC head and have serious power. If you go with a VTEC engine allready, go for a GSR. they have 185 to the wheel, and you would not get boared of it, like I said it all depends on YOU, good luck.

Do your research. There are infinity +1 possible combinations, it depends on what you're going to be using the car for.

If you can get the LS (B18B) for cheap, swap that in. Then you can decide to go LSVTEC (not v-tech!) or forced induction. If you're just using it for a DD, then just swap the LS in and give it some bolt-ons and be done with it.

What could you have done to prevent this? Read the freaking sheet of paper prehaps, or maybe rephase your poor question to a bit on topic more. For example in stead of that mumbling you said " Pardon me sir, I'm looking at using this bike, I want to do a 30 min ride at 20 mph could you help me ?"

No you just babble out your putting some dope *** swap into your car and don't know what kind to get, but it's gotta be powerful. We have no idea what you want it for or what you consider powerful.

Ok with that out of the way, yes you can put a sohc vtec head onto a sohc block use the search and put in mini me, also its covered in the FAQs.

Running a b18 you will need to convert OBD's. Yes you can swap the head and get "make sure you spell this right, because some people will be complete retarded ******** about it" vtec.
If you want power, why not just use and FI set up on the d16a6...let me give you some quick helpful pointers:
1. read all of the Faq in CRX/Civic forum
2. Read all the Faq in All motor forum
3. Read all the faq in the FI "forced induction" Forum
4. Always search "red button" in corner before you ask a question (make sure you searched in the archieves too"
5. Search google and/or related sites
6. Make sure you have the money + some before you do a swap if its your Daily Driver.
7. make sure you do what you want...boosted a6...supercharged b18C anything...its your car
Just make sure to read all the Faq "only about 5% of HT does it, hints a lot of the ignorance around here"...good luck

VTEC &lt;- no H no hypen no K not really that tricky.

SOHC VTEC FTW!!! keep your motor, swap the head from a z6, get a custom turbo kit from Ebay and get a cheap turbo from an old saab or something.

We have FAQS, do you honestly think your the first person to ask this?

The FAQs were alot of labor for us to setup and will help you, but no you demand a spoon feeding. It's too much work for you to click a button, it's going to be too much for you to swap.

Even if your not the most net savy you should be able to form a semi worth while question.

but seriously if you want a powerful motor for your CRX just do LSVtec with boost. But if you are on a budget keep the d16a6 and add boost, and if you don't like FI, just run like a b18C5 it all depends on your budget. What do you even want this power for?
