...I thought this might be of some interest.

I recently blew a fuse that controls my interior lights and tail lights. At night I kept on getting pulled over because my tail lights were out but I got off after explaining I blew a fuse and have yet to replace it (so I'm lazy). Then I think to myself...99.8% of car thefts occur at night. So if you take this little fuse out at night when you come home, and your car happens to be the unlucky one that night and gets ganked, the chances of the thiefs getting pulled over in your car by the police are greatly increased. Ofcourse unless they tow it.

Oh yeah, don't take the topic title so serious, I just wanted to get your attention

you have my attention

but here is a problem
what if you live in an area where there is little law enforcement?

Then what are the odds that when your car gets stollen at 2 am that the perpetrator crosses a police officer? i.e. my hood

Good idea though. I say quit being cheap and get a good valve cut off, w/ decent alarm.
keep a glock 40
and get some sleep

they won't get far.

One2Hit: That's all he's saying. He isnt saying this is going to stop a theif, but it may thwart their efforts when driving, as they'll be clueless as to the lights not being on.

that would work in my area. I've seen car thiefs here get pulled over for no front plate. Ask Jackson, that's how his car spotted by police a block away after it was stolen. The guy didn't stand a chance.

Tail lights are on the same fuse as interior lights, so they will know. Instead, you could make a cutoff switch for them (& brake lamps while you're at it, a DPST switch). That way the thieving mutherkumquats won't have the slightest idea. Plus, it would be easier then pulling and reinserting a fuse.

yeah that's true: every little bit helps.
But unfortunatly It just wouldn't work where I live...
at 2 or 3 in the morning no one is on the road, and to be honest the police around here just don't give a ****. I have had buddies that have been pulled over w/possesion of marajuana and the police just conpensated it and drove away (drugs are bad btw!)

Like I said.. It is a good idea if you think that law enforcement is strong enough in your area.

I would be happy as **** if my car was stollen and I found out that they were pulled over because I pulled the fuse to the taillights

didn't mean to stomp your idea y0!!!

A lot of cops around here, how about disabling the head lights too? Hehe... thieves can't drive away in the dark!

I'd make a switch, that's a damn good idea.

How suspicious would it look havin a couple of punk AZN kids in a Type R with no headlights or taillights on?

Come on cops, let's use our senses...

I just keep a lift at the house and pull out my motor every night and store it in the basement behind dead bolt doors

After that one, I will never put my front plates back on.

Not a bad idea, but these idiots who steal cars probably wouldnt pull over if the cops tried. They'd run and end up on Fox Greatest Police Chases or something.

Why don't you all just pull out the fuel pump fuse, or the ECU fuse? Another thing you can do is install a relay (that is activated with a switch) inline with the ignition wire underneath the hood by the driverside shock tower. I have installed this for maybe people and if you need help doing it then just email me.

Fuel cut off switch and a garage is the best deterrant.
