Default How To Determine What Size Shot of Nitrous Is Good For What Motor and HP Gains?

I'm thinking of scrapping the turbo idea, and just going with a shot of nitrous. I've looked around and it seems most people think a 75 shot is the biggest shot I could use. How is this determined? and how to apply it to other motors? Also, what hp would I yield with a 75 shot, 50, 100, 150 how is that figured out.

Thanks in advance
