b20 vtec is the big dog for the b-series. It's a good set-up alright. There should be a engine code in the front of the engine where its mate with the tranny. It should say b20 on it if it is a b20. And the motor just drop in without modifing anything.

You'll need mounts, wiring etc.

Like any other b series.

Make sure not to rev the **** out of it because the b20's cylinder wall casting is crap.

If you want to do anything serious with it you'll need to build it.

Sleeves, pistons, rods etc etc.

If the bottom end stock do not rev it past 7k. It will not last long if you do so, you'll
snap a rod bolt or even cause a spun bearing.

my friends car revs to 9k with a stock b20 bottom end also making 204whp on a dyno not dynojet, with a built head for the past 8 months , no problems yet

its all in your builder and a good tune , then you can beat the crap out of it ..

honing and balancing the block will also help, also getting a girdle and block guard will also help you rev to 9k no prob, + you got typeR valves

Just troque your rod bolts to 35 ft pound and you should be good. That is what my cousin did on his b20 vtec and been revving the living **** out of it to 9K. If you know what you are doing it should be fine. But now his is the processes of his high compression b20 vtec.

how often are they being revved that high? constant abuse like that will lead to something breaking.

Well, he doesn't revved it all day. He just drives it more aggressive the your nornmal driving style. He even took it 10K a couple of times.

We all know that already. That is what I kept telling him. But he just like to do it just for the heck of it.
