Default Civic STD high idle, check engine, weird

Okay, so I just got a 91 STD hatch and once it warms up it will idle at like 3500 rpm at stopsigns and stoplights, but if it gets up to temp just sitting in a driveway it will idle like normal around 850, also only when driving will a check engine light come on, I check the light and it just blinks once, making me think its code 1 = o2 sensor.

So I unplugged the o2 sensor from the car and let it idle for 15 minutes in my driveway and the check engine light never came on. I'm not very familiar with the dpfi setup, but is this a idle screw problem, or an iacv fitv, or o2 problem? Very weird..............

If it's just a steady high idle, I bet it's a vacuum leak, probably around your brake booster (assuming you stay on the brakes when stopped ). Try holding the brakes down for a while when it is just idling in your driveway, if the tach goes up, you have a vacuum leak.

but if it was a vacuume leak it would do it if the engine was cold or if it was warmed up. pulled the brake booster vacuume hose off and it altered the idling, so that wasn't leaking. I checked each vaccume hose didn't find any leaking yet. And its a steady high idle, not a surging one like with a fitv or iacv problem.

???

Have you checked the gaskets between the IM and block and for the TB?

Yeah, no leaks there either. I dunno if its the o2 or what. Will the car only go into closed loop mode while you're driving, or will it go into closed loop when its sitting in a driveway too?
