How does my prep work look for paint?
This was my first time sanding down a car, and getting it ready for paint. The car is very smooth and has no bumps or dents in it at all. Please tell me how my prep work looks:

it looks alright. what did you use to wetsand..? What color are you going with..?
If thats the primer (and i'm assuming it is) it looks really dark to be painting light colors on it. Like the guy who posted said...its all by the way it feels.

Well, just so you know black it the hardest color so paint, reason is it shows every flaw. You are going to want to go over the car with a wet 400 then a wet 600 if you cut through then you will need to primer that spot again. Make sure any body work you did it feathered really good or it will show up in the paint.
It is hard to tell from a pic but it looks to be ok. What is the tape over the holes for?

Cut through? What do you mean? Cut through the original coat of primer?
I keep my car parked outside, since there is no moldings on the car; the tape is to prevent water from getting in there.

the best way to check how straight a panel is before paint it to wipe it all down with pre-clean so the panel is real wet with it and the reflection off that will give you a good idea what your working with.
oh and btw, atleast take off your mirrors, door handles, rear lights and and roof moldings. They are easy to get off and will save you alot of time when you go to tape it up. You should have the quarter, back and front glass all taken out too because those moldings are almost impossible to tape off, especially the quarter glass.
