Default Cutting Lowering Springs. Advice required. Search Netted 2 results

Hi Folks,

This is just a quick question those that HAVE done this. Personally from what I've heard my first thought is that it's a big no-no but I'm looking for information from that HAVE done this. Friend is interested in lowering her car more while saving $$.

If you have cut lowered springs and then driven on them... do you recommend the mod or now regret it? Car is a lowered '91 CRX Si for reference.

Thanks,
-Rik
P.S. just looking for responces from those that HAVE done this.

When I got my first car, a Mustang; my sister's boyfriend cut some lowering springs I bought, to lower it more. Yeah, like they said, road like crap and bouncy as hell. Car is long gone now...

Don't recommend it at all.

I cut mine, but I didn't slam it. Doesn't ride bad at all, also cut the bumpstops in half..

I used a torch on my springs but didn't cut them just heated them and they compressed and I lowered the car 2" all around it rode very well

I had cut springs a Long time ago. Will never do it again. Go out to ebay and just buy some cheapo coilovers. Cut springs will be bouncy as hell, pretty soon you'll get car sick.
