looked thru FAQ's found the gear I want to swap my 5th gear with, a 92-96 prelude S 5th (.705) but I dunno if the f-series tranny gears are interchangable with h-series gears. Anyone have any experience with this? I have to special order the gear from cali and can't afford to have my car apart and stuck without a gear that will work.

Call the shop and ask them. My friend Nick has a boosted lude with h23 tranny and I think a f22 final drive?

I know the gear came out of a prelude s

maybe im wrong lol

 

the mechanic that is doing it isnt sure either, we think it will, but I need to be 100% sure.

I know for a fact that the 5th gear out of the SOHC prelude will not swap into the H-transaxles without modification. The same is true for trying to put an M2S4 5th (H23 gearbox) in an M2F4 (H22A1 gearbox).

If you want a taller gear then best go custom. search for threads made by machine4321 he's done some of that stuff.
