does anyone know if the stock 2002 rsxs resonator is straight through ? and if it is wouldnt it be better than a after market one, to tone down a exhaust with ?

resonators are straight through. they just have honeycombs on the walls that bounce soundwaves back at each other. the stock resonator is large so it has more honeycombs and small piping diameter

 

then wouldnt it be just as good as a aftermarket one ?

 

if you are looking to just quiet it down yes but it will be restrictive as hell and that also plays a role in sound. do you want your exhaust to be freeflowing and keep your gains or do you just want to make it quieter?

 

well i want it free flow as possible but i also want it to keep the sound down, whats making the stock one restrictive?
