Default glossy finish...

When I paint I use primer, paint & than add a clear coat. How come I don't get a glossy finish, it's usually rough (well painted) and looks like an unpainted plastic that comes off an 96-00 DX. The thing I used is called "CLEAR GLAZE" I dunno what it is and it's the only thing I can find. Am I doing something wrong

Its possible that your spraying laquer. With lacquer you have to wetsand/buff to make glossy.

Yep. I had some spray can stuff and I didn't read the instructions. It came out looking non glossy and then I read the directions. After I wet sanded, used rubbing compound and buffed it out and it looked nice and shiney.

You may also be putting it on too dry. Can clear isn't really that great, best stuff I ever used was DuPont can clear, it worked really well. Other than that, best way to get a good clear coat on your ride is with a air compressor, paint gun, and a real clear coat

Not too much orange peal, but wasn't great and looked uneven due to spraying metalic with a can. Wet sanded with 1500 and then 2000, then used rubbing compound and waxed it. Looked ok, but was shiney.
