question about breaking the bolts on header/valve cover/etc.
yeah, so i stripped yet another bolt... my first one was on my header, tightened it a little too much and it pooped right off, the threads that is... i'm guessing they thread into the engine and just have threads on the outside to bolt up ur manifold. anyway, i figure no biggie, a very small exhaust leak, i'll fix it eventually... well now, i go to put on my valve cover and i strip another bolt, one of the bolts on the inside close to the spark plugs... so... now i'm prolly burnin oil... i'm just curious of how do you go about fixing these bolts... i really don't want to do it myself, so does the acura dealership fix stuff like that, or would i have to go to some mechanic...???
Torque wrench FTW!!!
You need to pull the manifold and valve cover, then thread two nuts (or weld 1) on the end and back it out. Get a new stud, a new valve cover bolt AND A TORQUE WRENCH
and you're set.

The stealership? Sure they can do it, for twice what your car is worth
Any local shop should be able to do this in under an hour!!! Get the bolt and stud from the dealer, and take it to just about anywhere else for the labor.
