Default JDM header, test pipe, stock exhaust

Anyone running this setup. I'm looking for some help on what i am going to need to do. I did search, found 1 topic, but doesn't elaborate on anything.

Thanks

I am, the sound is great.
It's not loud obviously, but it does shoot out alot of smog. If you have a gutted interior, the smell sometimes gets in. Well for me anyways.

I can't say if I felt a difference between stock and with the setup because I had the test pipe installed the same day I got it.

Depends on what test pipe you will be running. USDM length T1R will.

Yeah good luck finding a T1R brand new these days. Used will have to do if you can find it. USDM length T1Rs have been discontinued

Tree killer

Actually if I were doing this today, I'd probably end up with a test pipe too. Back in the day, a high-flow cat was about $50. Now they're at least triple that.

Why not just get the omni test pipe, it'll extend to fit whatever you need.

As for the jdm header/testpipe/stockexhaust, it sounds pretty decent. It's not very raspy at all, and it doesn't buzz like the cheapo exhausts. Since it is chambered, you hear the engine over the exhaust.

The T1R is resonated, so it doesn't raise the sound too much. It also has a perfect fitment and build quality.

I have JDM 4-1 2.5" header into Omni jdm test pipe into stock US typer cat back.

Fits perfect, Omni test pipe is quality piece and in this case you do not need to change a thing all three pieces are required as it takes full length to connect.

If your cat back is stock with flange and that choke section still in place test pipe will have slightly bigger opening than your catback, it fits perfect, but there is a few horses in fixing that part of stock exchaust...
Kind of like running with a bit of exhaust restrictor plate in place if you know what I mean...

Sound is perfect, quiet no audiable resonance, just right for daily driver...

Oh Jon isn't in need of one.... he got the very last one available in the country (says Marc "Satan" Tran)

On a serious note though... they have been discontinued, and are going to be very hard to come by new. From here on out it looks like picking one up used will be one's best option.

I don't think he'd need a resonated test pipe. Driving with the above setup has never caused me any problems. I live in CA, and I've driven in front of, beside, and behind many cops and I've never been worried about excessive noise.

for me it isnt about the excessive noise..its the fact that it sounds like ****** **** with a non-resonated test pipe...

That's odd, it sounded perfectly fine with my setup. No raspiness. Maybe your muffler's on its way out.
