Integra repair question
Hi all. I have a '98 Integra, and the oil pump is dying (bad luck for me, as this apparently doesn't happen <100K too often). The oil pressure light periodically blinks - I'm not losing oil anywhere, and I had a new oil pressure sensor put on maybe six months ago, so I feel pretty good about the diagnosis.
I have two questions: First, my mechanic tells me that with this engine you have to remove the timing belt to change the oil pump, and so it makes sense and saves labor $$ to change that at that same time (the timing belt is about due for a change, though not overdue).
Second question - what would you call a fair price for the parts and labor to change the oil pump (+ misc. parts that go along) and the timing belt (+ water pump, which it only makes sense to change at the same time)?
Thanks in advance for the advice.
Dan
