Default Aftermarket OEM Fenders - Poor fit?

Anyone ever try these out? My fenders are pretty chewed up, and OEM fenders from Honda list for 274.00/ea.

Aftermarket OEM?

From what I've seen, after market fenders typically tend to be acceptable. I wouldn't go there for a hood though. It may take a little more finessing to get all the body gaps uniform with aftermarket stuff, but they can be made to look ok, especially if you havent had any front end repairs done.

As a heads up, you can order fenders from hondaautomotiveparts.com for $166/ea

I one bought certifit fenders for my old civic coupe, and fitment was horrible. the corner markers wouldnt even fit in place. I ended up buying used OEM fenders.

First off theres no such thing as aftermarket OEM. They are two totally different things. OEM is stamped from the manufacturer honda, bmw, etc. Aftermarket is from a totally different company aftermarket is usually pretty shitty depending on how picky you are and what you know what to look for. OEM will be perfect just about everytime.

What im saying is there is either aftermarket or oem. The cheap poor fitting non factory panels are aftermarket. OEM is from the factory gauantee fit. OEM is 100% better, it all comes down to how much you want to spend. Sometimes aftermarket is so shitty we have to send it back. Other times you dont have to mess with adjactent panels at all. With OEM you bolt it up align and be done.

I would go with a used primered fender from ebay in lieu of an aftermarket fender. Aftermarket hoods/ fenders/ bumpers are nowhere near OEM in terms of fitment and quality.

I just emailed the seller to see if they guarantee fitment. I really don't want to buy used unless I can physically inspect the items first. Had a bad experience with http://www.hondaautomotiveparts.com in the recent past, don't wish to give them any business.

Here is the response I got from the seller:

"This is a certified aftermarket part. Quality and fit is identical to the OEM part and it is guaranteed to fit. Please let us know if there is anything else we can help you with."

Sounds good enough for me! for under $180 shipped for both, I think it is worth a shot.

most after market fenders, hood, and bumper will not fit correctly you just have to aligh them to work.

I used aftermarket oem fenders for my 96 hatch, fitment was good, but never get aftermarket oem bumpers, I unfortunatley got some and fitment is horrible.

I got an aftermarket front bumper on my hatch and the fitment is 90-95% of an OEM piece. The only diff. was there is about a milimeter or two more gap in front of the headlights. If you're a perfectionist go OEM, but if you can make things work go aftermarket if you wanna save the dough

i purchased an "oem" front bumper from this store a while ago, i got it painted, then went to fit it on my car and it didn't fit. i should've test fitted it before - oh well. good experience, oem for me from now on.

I have one Aftermarket fender and one OEM fender. U can knock on both and tell the Aftermarket fender is alot thinner. And sometimes at idle u can hear the aftermarket fender rattle. Oh yea and since my car was dumped. my wheel ATE UP my aftermarket fender lip. The oem one......never bent.

So for my new rebuild. im buying some authentic JDM fenders used, or buying new ones from honda. It just depends on if ur fixing a part and just want it to look ok, or your going all out and theres no room for error and your being picky.

certi-fit is certi-****.... CAPA certified are pretty good quality... any decent body shop can make an aftermarket fit and look good. i do it all the time... American Family loves teh aftermarket parts, and i never have any complaints.

It just depends on who is installing them.
