My friend dropped my VAFCII, what would you do?
I was going to selling it for $175 tomorrow but now it's broken (the display, not the screen). I want to hear fair suggestions on how much I should charge him. The only thing is, he was storing it at his house (the town where it would be sold) and he was gonna have the buyer pick it up and give me the cash. I don't want to be a jerk and charge $175 but I also don't want to be out too much money because of his clumzyness.
Was mint; had the ECU harness and everything.

you can prolly get a new screen part from apexi..try that out.
wow, how good of a friend is he? he did try to help you out though. I would say $100 would be fair bro. But if he was a real friend he would pay the full amount bro...nothing more nothing less...well maybe a 40oz or 12pack between you guys would help the process a little

I called them and they said to call back when the warranty guy gets in. I thought it was only the outer lens but it's the display screen. It may still turn on and all but will have a crack acrossed the display.

Max credit hours (Chem 2, calculus, anatomy/physiology, french 3) + IHOP = no money.

He offered to pay me $175 but I think I'm going to hook it up to my car and see if it works. Take some videos and sell it on ebay. Then he can pay me the difference. Sound fair?
EDIT: His girlfriend just sent me a picture of it (cell picture so it sucks but you get the idea). It looks hopeless:

Haha I don't know if I could charge my friend who was helping me sell it and storing stuff for me. Accidents happen what can you do? Id just have to agree with the let him buy you lunch idea, but if its that big of an issue for you just get the money from him.
You have two modified cars and you're busting your friends *****? If he was doing you favor by storing it for you and selling it for you don't be a ***** and just eat it. **** -- I gave my friend a car just because he was nice enough to store it for me.

What relevance is that?
Storing a VAFC vs storing a car... It's not like storing a VAFC is any problem. It was only because he lives closer to the buyer. He offered to buy a new (used) one and I said the difference is fine. How am I being a douche? A douche wouldn't make this thread trying to get a fair opinon.

yep, if i had a good friend of mine do that, and he offered to fix the problem i'd let it go. it's only $175, depending on how your friendship is with him, to me $175 is a good amount to lose just to see how this friend acts when things like these happen.

I don't need to pay any amount of money to test our friendship. If I payed $175 to see how good my close friends were... I'd lose like $525.
