Default Replacing main and rod beaings, need help!!

Hi,

I dis-assemble my engine block and want to replace my rod and main bearings. The problem is that I forgot to mark my rods which cylinder they belong to and two main bearings came off that i dont know where they belong. I want to measure using plastigage to determine the clearance and use those markings from the block and rods to whcih color coded bearings i need.

Here is my set-up:

- z6 head(stock internals)
- z6 bottom end
- Vitara piston
- Eagle rods
- 3 bar map sensor
- T3 .48/.60 turbonetics
- 450cc injectors
- p28 chipped/Crome
- Exedy stage 1
- ClutchMaster flywheel (11lb)
- y8 head gasket

Here is my question:

Can I still measure the clearnces of the rods?? Rods are out of order

Should I buy ACL bearings set from ebay?? Check out this site--http://cgi.ebay.ca/HONDA-CIVIC...wItem

Package include Main, Rod bearings and Thrust washer.
Is this ACL package definitely will work??

Please, any knowledge about this, let me know.

Thanks in advance guys!!!

John

if your still using the same rods BUT new bearings then all you have to do is look at your crank, block, and the #s on your stock rods to find which colors you need..if you want OEM bearings then those colors will help you alot but if you want ACL i believe they make a 1 size fits all BUT you might not get the specs you want from them so its kinda risky...im not saying they are bad bearings or anything because alot of ppl have used them on their fully built K series engines with no problem...just depends on what you want...im currently building my k series rite now and OEM bearings are NOT cheap..i spent $96 on my main bearings+ thrust washer and $70 on my rods bearings and thats even with my discount cuzz i work at Honda

How about measuring my clearances? Can I still use those out of order rods for measuring?

Thanks ekb16 for the info.

with either OEM or ACL i would still measure clearance with plastigauge...if you find the #s and letters on your crank, block, rods, you can match up the colors you need for each main journal and rod journal
