Default Tube beader I made

Didnt feel like spending 500 bucks one so I figured id try to make my own outta some metal I had lying around.

And for the results, I know the beads are big I need to buy some thinner rolls

I made the whole thing, I bought the rollers I dont have a lathe to make my own. Its on the list of things to get. As far as plans I just looked around to get ideas and just went from there. I made some quick sketches and pretty much went off of them.

The bead prevent the pipe to pop off of a coupler.

id like to see directions on how to make it as well. how does the top bead (the male roller) compress down? do you have a hydro press? some sort of scew-style press?

After a bit of searching (gotta love Google) I have an idea how to make one. Seeing how people are selling the diy manual/diagram, i doubt this guy would simply give it up.
But i'm hoping i'll be wrong.

Really nice. I just bought one from Van Sant and I paid over $800 and the motor really cries when doing thick wall tubing.

90DALS: it looks like there is a threaded rod on the top die (male portion). i take it this would screw down and apply the needed pressure... ours is in the works, but only have hand drawings now. if i can get some CAD files after we get this finished i'll post'em up for all to see.

also, what is the max. thickness of material which it can form a bead?

thanks!

I have only used it on 16 gauge for which I intended it. I dont have any drawings other then the ones i just sketched up on paper. I didnt make any cad drawings, its a pretty basic design.

Looks good. The $500 price tag on these makes you not want one, lol
