Default places to rent a truck to tow?

anyone ever have to rent to tow your car before? it is about 300 miles each way for me to MIR so U haul is the last resort since it is .59/mile. I should have a truck soon but probably not before MIR. any ideas from anyone?

Sam

just go to a rent a car place, grab a truck, just make sure there is a hitch on it. Last year, i had a rent a dodge 1500 to go from my house to new york and back. just see if they can allot some extra miles because you have to go far.

dont tell them you are towing. just dont even bring it up

but wouldn't that void your insureance on the truck you rented? also who did you rent from? all the rental car places I have seen only have V6 rentals

I never seen one with a tow hitch on it, I called around a few years back and was told they don't rent trucks with tow hitches.

enterprise. rent a full size SUV. they should have expedition, yukons, and suburbans.
or you can also use a trailblazer which comes standard with hitches. v6 ftw. lol

IF mikey would chime in (boostedcivicsir) he rented a f250 diesel last year to go to MIR, it had tow package and all (just no trailer brakes) so he towed his trailer with that i believe it was around 250 bucks to rent the truck for hte weekend

hope this helps

the only thing i can say is to call spalco.
they had the best deal, BUT to tow, you need to show full coverage insurance. if i remember it was like 600 for the weekend, but that was fri sat sun and return monday. then there was tax and towing fee. the spalco i called was on hares corner in new castle de. IF i am goin that weekend, i may freelance my truck and trailer. i dont know yet as i didnt get to go to e-town ill have to see if nasteboyii is gonna be done. he hee. we will work things out.

check pm.

heres the deal with uhaul and penske, they usually dont rent trailers to less than a 15' truck. so if you arent getting the trailer from them you are good. BUT if you need a truck and trailer, you may have to rent the bigger trucks. l.m.k.

Enterprise, The trailblazer is a good choice, I use one to tow my car. It has a i6 with plenty of power and real good brakes for towing.

I work at a dealership, and we have a dealer trade truck that we loan out on occasion. I've used it several times to go to the track if it's a pretty far away event.
