clutch lock as in the autolock??? From what I hear, it seems to be a defeatable device. Also regardless of what you do, the car can still be stolen. Such as......TOW TRUCK....

No he was just trying to prove he really is a cave man.

It can be defeated along with just about every other form of theft prevention out there (and in Cali esp, a flatbed will negate anything). If they want it, they will get it. I wouldnt go around with just that thinking its safe at all, and IMO a clutch lock or any theft prevention available at pepboys isnt worth it at all.

Clutch locks, Autolock, The Club are useless. They might buy your caR a few mins if they plan to drive it away.
Get
1. Quality GPS tracker with a stealth install. One that you can monitor via the interweb.
2. Stealth install of a quality paging alarm with backup battery and as many sensors as you can get.
3. If you must park in public and leave it unattended, then the Mitico boot as nholmes posted.

<--sick of hearing "If they really want it, they'll get it" That's just covering up laziness/cheapness on owners part.

The club and autolock saved my car twice - but probably only because the thieves didn't have the tools to remove them or plan on stealing the car (amateurs? ...all they got was my shift **** ). But, I do agree, they're not always going to save your car: they're just added layers of protection, so you definitely need to do more if you plan on defending your car to the max.

Other have already stated viable ways to protecting your car. Again, as stated, no one layer is an automatically full proof method of protecion. Layers are crucial. The longer is takes for you to drive your car, the longer it will take for them to steal and drive your car.

Take an active approach and research ideas and investments to protecting your car. There are plenty of threads in this forum alone that can help you. Goodluck.

No one is sayin your lazy. Its all way the consumer that gets his car stolen. Why because most are hard headed, get the alarm just to be cool, Don't want to take a installers advice on what really needs to be done. Feels that a lil noice, I'll hear and take care of them. Don't really have the money or want to shell out big buck to really get a propper alarm installed. And most go to shops that don't give a flying f about your car. I can name over 20 shops in your area that install alarms and they don't care or give a squat. Just give me your money. Is a alarm going to stop a smash and grab? nope. it was never made to. Go to a high end shop and tell him that you want your car proctected. Matter of fact go to competition soundwerks in cerritos. He will hand you a bill for 3k. This is not what people want to hear. So they run to cc or bb and have a freash fish work on their car. $500 sounds like a better deal, whoa the other place was trying to rip me off. So you now got this great alarm system and a cheap install. You park your nice itr or gsr or what ever outside and in the morning its gone. And because you spent 500 on a install on a good alarm and its gone and you beleived in it.Thats were this saying comes from. " If a theif wants it bad enough he will get it". Its not that a theif wanted it bad. He wanted it and he just unpluged your 50cent install and took your car. I think we got a new qoute

"If a theif wants it bad enough he will take it with a 50cent install"

Thats so easy, factory alarm, as long as he does not open the doors the factory alarm will not go off. The only thing that might go off in the on-starr unit.

O own only look in my sig. Stolen once from being drunk and stupied, will never happen again
