Default set up plan.

ok so far i've only done a injen SRI on my 07 coupe but i'm planning on buying an SSR header and as for exhaust i have no idea yet. problem is i live in **** california and cops in my area are dicks for loud exhaust.. so the skunk2 70mm worries me.

if i modded the skunk2 to use a carsound high flow cat and threw in a 22 inch resonator for example how much more mellow would the set up be and since the cops could give me the old flashlight test and see a cat under there i'm hoping i'll be ok and not smell like rotten eggs lol. what do u guys think? obviously wont make as much hp with a cat then a race header but cali its a 2000 ticket. what do u guys think. and what are u cali guys running?

there is hardly any noticeable difference between the 60 and the 70, although I wouldn't recommend getting the 70 because you are NA. 70 is for F.I.

from what i've gathered 70mm is ideal for the k series NA.

plans are I/RH/E/ hondata just the loudness of the skunk scares me so i was hoping adding a resonator and cat would quiet the set up and make it not smell like ***. and hopefully at least look legal if a cop stops me.

why dont you do a megan midpipe and hfp muffler if you are concerned about cops pulling you over. if they do you can say 'look, its oem' or get the tanabe catback, 93db, almost stock sounding until you get on it, and looks pretty stock too

You are like the third person to post this (incredibly) ironic post. Just like the others, you say you are worried because cops in your area are worse than most places, yet you pick the LOUDEST exhaust possible.

Honestly, if you're so worried about a cop, pick something a little more "driveable". It's kind of ridiculous that you would pick the loudest sounding exhaust and then say you're worried about the sound. Kind of like the other guy who wanted to buy the skunk2 70mm, and then put all kinds of **** on it to quiet it down. Just buy the quiet exhaust...

i know i'm asking for a bit much lol but i'm just lookin in terms of gains. and i've heard the 70mm was the best.. but ur right i'm prob just gonna have to go with the evo 2 and the RH and hope it meets somewhere in the middle of evo 2 without a header and the skunk2. thanks for the opioninos though

truthfully i'd stick with the stock exhaust.....cali sucks as far as emissions go. i love cali but hated their emissions laws.

stock exhaust won't cut it for my future goals of I RH and reflash. i thought exhaust was a must have with that combo. plus i'd like to hit 200+ whp, i had a greddy evo on my 00 SI and it wasnt to rediculously loud.. but sounded great after i camed it. iono i love the way the skunk sounds i may just say F the cops and get a 60mm which might be slightly
quieter lol my buddy has one on his si and "says" he doesnt get hastled. so who knows. maybe i'm just being paranoid.

edit: ok now that i've got my rambling out of me i'm just gonna get the greddy evo 2 which i know from experience to not be over powering. and the RH sorry to rant. i just dont wanna spend money on something and feel like i messed up thats all.

People are hitting upwards of 210 WHP with I/E/RH/reflash. So without a new exhaust, you will most likely still be above 200, assuming an exhaust doesn't add much more than say 5 whp.

I am running the Greddy EVO2 with a Comptech short header. Pretty quiet during normal driving. However, if I am "getting on it" and taking it to the higher RPM's, it is definitely louder.

But then, I not "getting on it" anywhere, where there would be police around. Besides, when I am running hard, I hear the supercharger whine more than I hear the exhaust system.

what part of cali do you live in? i would stay away from any type of N1 style exhaust. being dumped out in cali isn't much help either.

i am also from cali and loud exhaust is what caused me to sell my old car... go with something stock looking such as greddy sp2 or apex'i ws. greddy evo would suit you as well.

yeah i ended up ordering the greddy evo 2. i had one on my old Si so i know its mellow if u WANT it to be. and sounds good when ur gettin on it. plus when i eventually slap an SSR header in there i'm sure it will increase the sound a little so prob better to start out with a quieter exhaust.

i'm in socal in simi valley btw.. land of the import hating cops. needless to say theres a ton of rice rocket **** buckets around here that give us all a bad name and pretty much are the reason the cops are such dicks. theres only so many 92 hatch backs with straight pipes and atezzas a cop can take before they get a stereotype of honda owners in there head lol
