Question about ipod hook-up and aux...
1.) What is the Aux. socket for that is right under the 12V socket? (06' EX)
2.) When I bought the car a year ago, they said something about being able to hook an ipod up to it, but I didn't have one so I didn't care. Now I have one, and am wondering how to do it. Do I have to buy the hook-up ****? Is it tough to do?

the aux input under the 12v plug is to plug in a audio source through a mini jack cable. you can use ipod with this but you cannot control/charge ipod from the radio. If you use the Musiclink from Honda the ipod will charge as you play and you can control tracks from radio/steering wheel controls. If you wanna go Musiclink route lemme know, i just lost my ipod!
You have TWO options for how to hook up your ipod.
Buy a $5 aux cable from radio shack -- one end goes to the headphone output on your ipod, other end goes to the AUX port below your 12v socket.
Buy a Honda music link from Honda. Parts + labor will be in the hundreds for sure.
Differences are: With the honda music link you can control tracks/artists/genres through your headunit/steering wheel controls. With the aux cable you change all music settings(besides volume) via the ipod.
AUX Jack FTW.

yeah..i have the aux jack. music ipodlink FTMFL.
200 something dollars just to control it from your steering wheel?
i got a charger for like 15 bucks. and the aux jack for abuot 15 bucks.
so all in all i spent 30 bucks.
and i just charge and control it from my ipod.

How hard is it to hook up the honda-music link? I'd rather go that way because im lazy and want to control it through my dash, haha.
You have navi or no? either way its pretty easy. maybe an hour tops! (if you really have to take radio out, which you dont have to if you know the trick)
