Default What to do with my breaks!!

I got a 96 dx civic coupe, and not having ABS scary. so i was thinking of getting a drum to disc convertion, but do i really need it? what if i throw on some ss break lines will it make that much ofa differnce? I got some brembo rotors in front drilled and slotted. WHAT SHOULD I DO WITH MY BREAKS??

First of all, it's BRAKES, not breaks.

ABS is unnecessary if you are even half way decent at driving. If you are planning on staying under 150 HP or so, don't bother with a disc swap. SS Lines are good, your brembo drilled rotors are pretty useless and potentially deadly (check the FAQ page about why).

Just start reading more and more and more before you do anything. The best thing you can do is get some decent pads (I like Hawk HPS), some Brembo BLANK rotors, and a flush. Your brakes will be fine.

you mean brakes.
and how scary is it driving without abs? doesn't seem that bad, you have to know how to drive.

as for the disc conversion, no you don't need it, but it will help when it comes to braking power. IMO, do the swap, replace your lines with some s.s.lines and get some good pads and rotors and you'll be straight.

is this your daily driver? if it is, then a rear disc brake conversion is not really necessary. the cross drilled rotors in the front can actually break so be careful,

p.s. they are called brakes

will you ever upgrade the motor??if you are then i would upgrade your front brakes first. You can go with brakes off a ex/si or 94-01 teg. Once that goes through then do the rear disc conversion...if your planning not to mod the motor then just resurface your front rotors and get some good quality pads...
