As long as you're talking about a coupe to a coupe or a sedan to a sedan. They are not interchangeable between the two body styles but same to same should be fine.

To clarify, '96-'98 coupes can have '99-'00 coupe taillights.
I should know. My '98 coupe has '99 Si taillights on it.
'96-'98 OUTER sedan taillights and '99-'00 OUTER sedan tailights are interchangeable. The inners require you to swap trunks.
'96-'98 hatch tailights and '99-'00 hatch taillights are interchangeable.

Which means in order for the '99-'00 taillights to be legal, they must have an amber bulb in the turn signal.

thanks guys! I heard it will not completely fit, like there would be a small gap on the bottom? Is that true? Would anyone know where I would be able to get them? I was also thinking about changing my headlights also because it is old and turning yellow. Any recommendations?

It will completely fit, no gap or anything, because my brother did it. You should able to get them on ebay about $120 or craigslist about $100. You should buy the CTR headlight for the JDM y0! or ebay black housing, but projector is a big nono on H-T. You can also sand the headlight, buff it with rubbing compound and it will look brand new.
