b&m install
I just got a b&m dual bend ss, problem is that i see no bearing? I've heard that i have to remove the bearing from the stock shifter and put it over, any pointers on doing this or if its even the right thing to do. The guy who had it before me used no bearing and just bolted it up with washers on each side but that just seems dangerous to me.
When you pull the old shifter out there should be a little bearing around the "ball". While your replace the short shifter you should look into some new bushings also, its a 2 bushing kit and energy suspension is the most popular one but there are others out there too. Its cheep and well worth it.
I believe what your talkin about is the boot, i'm talkin about the actualli bearing where the bolt on the linkage go thru. The b&m does not come with one. odd...
i think yur right, st jimmy is talkin about the boot. if yur shifter didnt come with bearings, this is gonna sound funny but skateboard bearings fit. and u can get really smooth bearings. im running some swiss ceramics in my short shifter. yeah u can use the bearings from the stock one but id just get new ones. theyre cheap and teh skate bearings spin faster than the normal ones anyways and i woudl say that leads to smoother shifts. i love mine
