Default k20a2 cams in k20a3?

can the cams in the k20a2 fit in the k20a3?
if so wouldnt it be better to buy an a3 and put a2 cams in the engine than to just buy the a2 and spend an extra 4-5g's?

a k20a2 is not 4-5k more then a k20a3. if you search k20a.org you can find the thread that inlinepro made, they put k20a2 cams on a k20a3 and did 199whp.

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by Jeremyinlinepro &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">Here is the how I got the K20a2 cams to work on the K20a3 head. You need the K20a2 cams (or type-r, tsx, crower...), K20a2 rockers and pins, and k20a2 rocker shafts. The pins in this picture are how they come in the A2 head

You have to switch the pins in the left and middle rocker like this picture

This locks the left and middle rocker together so that the middle rocker will not bounce around due to the cylinder head not having the lost motion spring.

This makes the left valve always ride on the vtec lobe and the right valve rides on the non-vtec lobe. When vtec is engaged by the solenoid it locks all three rockers together the same way the factory does and you have a regular working vtec.</TD></TR></TABLE>

K20a2 obviously . but i can understand money being tight. go with a k24a1 then slap a k20a2 head on it later on.

K24A1's go for anywhere around $1200-1500 for the longblock, the k20a2 head is $1k. this combo provides very nice numbers, around 210-230whp depending i/h/e and other stuff.

no problem, check out k20a.org for EVERYTHING, it's the best place for information on any setup you want to do. look at what other people have done to get an idea of what you want to do.
