Another Suzki'Q death... Diego Corrales
LAS VEGAS – Diego Corrales, a former world champion boxer who scored one of the most memorable knockouts in boxing history, died Monday in a three-vehicle accident near his Las Vegas home.
Corrales was driving a 2007 Suzuki 1000 motorcycle, traveling northbound on Fort Apache Road in the southwest part of the city, when it inexplicably struck the back of a 1997 Honda Accord, Las Vegas police spokesman Sgt. Tracy McDonald said.
McDonald said the motorcycle careened into the southbound lane and, at some point, he was tossed off the bike.
A 2004 Mercedes-Benz traveling in the southbound lane was unable to brake in time. McDonald said the driver, who was not identified, "was unable to avoid striking the motorcycle and possibly the operator of the motorcycle also."

Let this be a lesson to all the squids who think that because the new GSXR1000 has different power levels, they can "grow into it".

X10 to that one too.
my first SPORT bike was a 99' 900RR when i was 19 and i never rally learned how to ride it. it wasn't until i moved down to slower sport bikes that i learned to ride. i think ive known prob 5 people in my entire life that really know how to handle the power of a 1L sport bike everyone else should sell what they go and get a 600. of course there are those proud few that don't belong on anything faster then a ninja 500

I love this quote...
"when it inexplicably struck the back of a 1997 Honda Accord"
Bummer to loose a life but there is nothing inexplicable about it

ouch... I really dont know why people tempt themselves like that. there is no room to use the power of a liter bike on the street...hell, even 600's are overkill

Honestly I think that liter bikes don't really have a place in anything right now.
Race is being dominated with quick turns of the nimble motogp 700cc class, and for street twisties the 600cc is more than enough, and for drag...the ZX-14R and the Hayabusa...
When I hopped on a 929 fireblade that thing was vicious! Even with the riding experience that I have with the 600cc and my ex250, I didn't feel that I could make use of its power anywhere without nearly killing myself. Granted I only weigh 130lbs.

If he was in the low setting mode on the 07 1k it wouldn't matter if he was on a 600 or a 07 1k on A setting... he had a death wish either way because of his riding style and mentality..

Do you ever watch AMA or SBK? They run "liter bikes". Quick turns and nimble MotoGP? I guess you haven't been seeing Tony Elias sliding the bike all over the corners. Also, that class is run with 800cc bikes, not 700.
Your assumption that the ZX14 is for drag racing is bogus. Stock for stock, the ZX10 is quicker AND faster in the 1/4 mile.
