Default HID's... where do I begin?

alright here is the deal... I have a 98 integra ls and i am trying to get some HID's for it. I have absolutely nooooo idea where to begin. The only thing that I do know is that I would like the capsule temp (?) to be 6000k. If anyone could explain what I need to do/buy in order to have these HID's that would be great. Please note that my lighting in my 'teg is completely stock as of now so I do not know if that makes any difference. I am gettin so confused with retrofitting, plug n play, and all sorts of other **** I do not even know where to begin with this project... any help is appreciated!!!

may sound simple...but try searching. Not trying to be smart, but there are thousands upon thousands topics on this. Your best bet is to just buy Plug and Plays.

no it is not. your best bet does not always equal the cheapest route. your best bet is to do a full retrofit. the cheapest way is a plug and play kit.

I have a techone 6k plug and play kit. I love it. It was easy as hell to install and cheap.

I would have gone retro but I didnt want to spend the money.

Simply put:

Plug and play: Simple, Cheap, Looks like a couple spotlights driving down the road

Retro Fit: More spendy and time consuming, it involves fabricating in a HID projector into your stock headlight housing, but looks 1000 times nicer driving down the road.

it really just depends on how much the OP wants to spend.

There are some places that you can get plug and play kits for under 200 dollars.

A full retrofit may cost in the upwards of 600.

If the OP doesnt care how great the cutoff or about the glare, a plug and play may be what he wants.

Im with brian, i would definitely recommend a retrofit, they look so much cleaner and better.
There is a really good howto on skafia or something.. Just google Integra Type R Retrofit, and you should find it, it tells you how to do EVERYTHINg required for the swap.

Retrofit is the best and only way to do HID's on integra's, civic's, crx's and delsol's. Using HID's in a non HID projector is going to cause a blinding glare, to opposing traffic and anyone else oncoming to you, same with aftermarket projector head lights, you still get an uneven distrubution of light and/or clarity. Retrofitting OEM hid projectors with your stock headlights is ingenius. Do it once, and do it right the first time, IMO. But i dont plan on doing it yet since its pricey and time consuming , it pays to play.
