Getting familiar with this 83 750 shadow the Tach started jumping around 6k although engine about 2k=2nd gear @ 25-35 mph. Engine running fine no lwarning ights or unusual noises. Then engine back-fired and stalled. Strong head-light but no restart (new battery fully charged=first thing a new bike to me gets). After 15 minutes re-start as normal. 5-10 minutes riding later (engine temp gauge read just past half and engine cooling fan has not come on at all) same senerio. tach jumps/bounces 6k engine backfires and stalls, wait 10 minutes restart as normal. did this one more time and got it home.
