Default rev limiter to early

alright i have a 94 civic ex with a gsr swap its throrwing a code for the knock sensor and thats it, but when i get on it and try to take it to 8 grand it hit the rev limiter at around 7600 even does it at idle, and i have the right ecu and everything. i tried my friend mugen ecu witch has no rev limiter and disables the knock sensor it sounded like it was really straining to reach 8grand, i need help on this i cant figure it out what do you think it could be.

usually a faulty ecu would throw random codes, or the CEL will just stay on and not blink when troubleshooting the codes.
