Is the cd an mp3 cd? If it's an mp3 cd player it could cause that or if the cd is too scratched maybe? I don't know... just trying to help...

What name brand is the CD player?
Where did you buy it? Instructions should tell you the problem if you have them.

Reset your CD player.

Pull the fuse for 30 seconds or unplug your negative battery terminal for 10 seconds.

It will clear it's memory and hopefully that error code.

Keep in mind that you're going to need to enter the 5-digit security code if you do this.

Did you try disconnecting the negative battery terminal?

You don't need a code for the '96-'98 Civic CD players, but you do for the '99-'00 CD players.

Here's a list of error codes for a '98... but I don't have it for the '99-'00. Your owner's manual in your glovebox should list them too.

You really won't be able to fix it, so you'll need to purchase a replacement.

That's why I said to check your own owner's manual.

Thank you and well put. That equipment is all I use to work on. When we got a unit like that 90% of the time we sent it to unitedradio due to a lack of part support. OP it sucks but this is the truth somethings you just can't field service even if you think you can
