Default STILL NO POWER!!!!!

Well i just got done changing out the header and the o2 sensor. The car seems to still run sluggish. I really dont think the vtec is coming on. I replaced the solenoid and the solenoid gasket but still nothing. THE CAR IS JUST ******* SLOW!!!!
I'm getting a VSS code. If I go and wiggle the wiring, it will start working again. Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks

I drove this car when it had a D16z6 and this motor just does'nt compare! I dont think that .1 liter of displacement would make that much of a difference. I'm using the d16z6 tranny.

VTEC WILL NOT WORK WITHOUT THE VSS!!! You're getting a VSS code...So replace the thing!!! Then VTEC will work and it'll run right.

Alright well I replaced the VSS. Vtec is on and there is some noticeable power gain but I'm still backfiring. It seems like I'm losing back pressure. I'm thinking its time for a new muffler. What do you guys think?

If its backfiring allot, its either a bad MAP sensor, bad plugs, or bad ignition. Have them all checked.

My brother was backfiring the other day too.

Turns out the GSR we just bought has the original plug wires. ~12 years old.

It was probably running on 3 1/2 cylinders.

New plug wires were $17 at autozone.

Actually I've replaced the plugs, plug wires, header, o2 sensor, vtec solenoid w/gasket, and now the VSS. And I'm still backfiring!!!!! What gives?

Also, I think I'm getting some valve lash. When I start the car there is a light clicking noise and when I move in 1st gear I can here it even more.
