Check gas cap error on display

Default Check gas cap error on display

got the 06 si and the message "check gas cap" on the odo display. This came on after 300 miles since i filled when i stated it up. I since filled up and re tightened the cap. Is there any way to reset this i held the reset button didnt do nothing. Anyone experience this.

Its kinda of funny you brought this up cause mine just came on today also. It says in the manual to take cap off and re tighten but it will take a couple trips back and forth to were ever for the computer to readjust for the message to go away.

The notification should reset itself and go away shortly.

Just make sure you always correctly tighten the cap so it doesnt happen again

You can simply disconnect your battery for 10 minutes. You're deck will keep the presets after you enter you anti-theft code. I had this same error but i was tired of looking at so i just unhooked my battery.

filled the gas drove 51 miles still on. guess ill have to dc my batt. too bad there isnt a way to reset it

same thing happened to me 2 or 3 weeks ago. I also re-tightend the gas cap but i still got the check gas cap message. I looked in the book and all you have to do is press the SEL/RESET button on the left of the steering wheel. Everytime the you turn the car off and then on the message will appear. It should stop within a day.

when i installed my zex kit i had to remove the fuel line which caused this message to come on and if you just disconect the barrery it will go away....at least that worked for me
