Default Where is this oil coming from? *PIC*

Is this caused by a bad cam seal, or could it be the o-ring that goes around the lugs on the distributor? Any other suggestions?

Thanks!

wash that off, drive a little bit and check again, you may be able to see where its coming from rather than looking at a blob of oil and gunk haha

Also, some of that oil is "fresh" since I didn't plug the hole, but you can tell what's caked on and what is new.

Look to the right of the distributor hole in that picture. Seems that some of it is leaking from the corner between the valvecover, head, & last cam cap.

There's 2 things there. Valvecover gasket goes around a sharp corner, that needs a little dab of sealant. (Don't be afraid to also get a new gasket if yours isn't very new.) Also, the last cam cap needs sealant underneath, where it's bolted down to the surface of the head.

Since the distributor is removed, don't be afraid to replace it's little O-ring anyway. Look for scratches or nicks in the smooth surface where that O-ring seals.

Ok, maybe this is a dumb question, but where do I get a new o-ring? Do I take it off and bring it to Autozone and match up a replacement?

I'll probably do the other suggestions about the sealant on the last cam cap and valve cover.

Thanks!

I imagine it's pretty cheap even at a dealer. That way you'll know it's the proper material not just the right size.
