wheel size for steelies for 96-98 civic
im trying to find some steelies but got confused on what size steelies i need to put my stock 97 hubcaps bak on it...on craigslist theres people selling 13", 14", and 15" steelies and say that there honda steelies...which confused me i kno eg civics have smaller steelies...anyways anyone can help me out??
Civics came with steelies in all three sizes, depending on the year and version. All 1997 Civics in the U.S. had 14" wheels, so if you have the plastic wheel covers from a '97 Civic, you'll need 14" wheels for it.
The diameter is measured at the bead, where the tire is mounted. So it's possible that if you measure the diameter of the wheel covers, they may be larger (as much as 15"). But as long as you're sure they're from a '97, they are for 14" wheels.

so no way to fit my 97 hubcaps on 01 civic steelies?? which are 15"...the 14" steelies are sold and now im left with 15" steelies that i found for 100

I don't think so. But since you have them, why don't you just try it?

I would not recommend mixing hubcaps from my experience. I once tired some G4 Civic Si HB caps on my G6 Civic LX. They were both 14" and looks like a perfect fit.
As I bolt them on, I got the feeling that it did not go in far enough. No matter how tight I lug the nuts, I just did not trust it.
I filed some of the tabs down, and it fit better. Not 100% like stock, but good enough to look "cool" for a while, then decided against it because I was still afraid it may cause the lug nuts to come loose.
I think I paid almost a $100 cause they were mint (used).
For safety reasons, I would not recommend it.
In summary, steelies can be different, and hub caps can be different in different years even if they are all the same size.
