Default Selling 02 s2k looking at 2004+ Sti or Evo...suggestions opinions..tried search also

Basically i need more room. The S2k is awesome and i love it but not even close to practical for my needs of space right now.
I like the way the Sti looks and drives and sounds. I've never been in an Evo so maybe you guys can help me compare the 2.
I'm looking for a 4 door with room that I can have minimal problems in rain or winter driving (I know that's based on conditions and tires etc.. but compare it to an s2k in snow), but is fast and "tuner" friendly (i use the term loosely cause it seems that anybody putting on intakes and exhaust calls themselves tuner's now). Also looking at ease of maintenance/care. reliability etc..
I don't want a volvo or audi and these 2 are the only 2 brands i'm looking at.
Any help with this is appreciated. I'm leaning towards the Sti but maybe i'm missing something about the Evo that some of you can point out.
Thanks Again!!

both cars have extremely under thought and bland interiors.

The fit and finish is beyond sub par. Also, the blue interior of the sti's is just plain disgusting.

The sti feels like a boat, but is gunna be the powerhouse out of the two.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Now for the evo.

Bland interior, but not as ugly as the sti's.

Not as fast as an sti, although it is a drivers race.

BOTH have extremely annoying shifters. They are very sloppy compared to the s.

if you need more room though, you gotta get one i guess.

Id get the evo. It just seems like a better dd.

I drove an 05 and 06 STi. Feels like none of the qualities you mentioned. The new interior is better in the 06, less blue and pink, and more black. Did not roll like a boat. The shifter can't compare to the S though, but the boost blows it all away.

i agree^^^the interior of the sti isn't as bad now as previous years and the shifter is not crisp like the S but when boost comes all that doesnt matter...the evo on the otherhand was just plain uncomfortable to me..my shoulders were to schwarzeneagger to fit in the seat..its like they built it for ww2 japanese detainees or something...

damn thats weird, from an S i would only step up to a sports car like a ferrari or a porsche, not a big fan of a 4 door, thats just my opinion.

the Evo is a LANCER on steriods...
mod MOD friendly,
Looks a lot better IMO,
drivetrain is weaker then that of the STI but thats all in the hands of the driver.

STI interior layout is better then then EVO's but the STI's interior still looks like ****.

"tuner wise" the EVO hands down.. you will need a stage 2+ or 3 to equal what you will get out of the Evo with a stage 1 upgrade....

i'd go with the subie. their community support is just insane (referring to nasioc, their version of htech).

EVO's get a lot of support as well... both are great platforms in the right hands...
AMS EVO did win the shootout in the newst issue of MODIFED...

ha, I sold my rallye red '07 Si to get my S2k. It was nice but too many problems. Within the first 3 months I had to have the pass. seat replaced, the radio/cd player replaced, the fender re-painted twice and just as i was getting rid of it, i started having a knock in the RR corner and the DBW lag was HORRIBLE!!!!. A good platform thought just at this point in my life i don't want to have to modify the car a lot to get it to where i want it.

I am also thinking about selling my S2000, its just so hard to do so.
i got it a little less then a year ago. I love the car very much. but i just need something a little more practical.

My s2k stays in the garage more then half the year, plus i dont have a larger car.
So the size issue is also another reason.

My 240 should be on the road here shortly, but its my track/race/street car, which is not wise to depend on it. (as it could be not reliable)

I just cant see how i could go to any thing less then an S2K
I thought about getting another newer car. like an EVO or STI

But id also like to get rid of the car payments and high insurance.

So i am not sure. There is a guy at my job who really wants to buy the car from me.

I dont know what to do..

The only thing that motor is good at in the EVO is keeping mechanics in business. They break down A LOT!!! My friend swore off mistu after his DSM. Down SOOO MUCH!

Where are you located I'm in the market for a 2002. ek9disaster@hotmail.com
