Default obd1 crx?

i have a 88 model SI im building for race only. so headlights and taillights mean nothing to me. i have a complete obd1 harness i pulled out of a 95 DX civic. changing the harness would be easy being the dash is out of the car but would it be worth it to convert it over. im rebuilding the SI motor now. its gonna be fully built non v-tec runin 5-7 pounds of boost. so the question is obd0 or obd1?

obd-1 your engine will run so much better and with a good tune you make like 15 more whp just because its obd-1 meaning you will get a better tune... obd-1 is better.. boost even better

I would run obd0 with turboedit,,and if you want to convert to obd1 theres no need to run a complete 0bd1 car harness, thats very hard, just get obd1 ecu and distributor plugs and repin as needed, theres a shitload of writeups on the web..

exactly! Just get an OBD0 -> OBD 1 jumper harness. You will need an OBD1 distributor as well, not just the plugs.

If you dont want to mess with a jumper harness, then just go to the junk yard and snip off some OBD1 ECU plugs. OBD0 and OBD1 have mostly the same wires anyways and its easier to modify your existing harness to fit the ECU vs modify a different harness to fit everything BUT the ECU.

i have all the parts and harness. what im sayin is there is no actual harness in the crx right now. only the fuse boxes. i have the fuse boxes, distributer, all sensors, fuel injectors, etc. i even have the ignition switch out of the car. i think obd1 would be easier being i have all the parts alreay.

what you need to di is convert you engine harness to obd1 by adding the dizzy plugs and some others, then you could tune it with crome or something like that. i have never tryed turboedit so that might be an easy answer for you.

the only harness i have is an obd1 harness. there is no harnes in the crx right now. i pulled a harness, intake, distributer, o2 sensor, fuse boxes, fuel pump, etc. out of a 95 DX model. there are no splices in the harness except what i cut out. things such as headlights, heater controls, radio, dont mean nothing to me. the car is fully preped for race only. odb1 is how im going.

Then why not just use the 95 harness and convert it to fit the car or build your own custom harness? What exectly are you asking? If you should go OBD1? Then the answer is yeah, especially if you're building a race car.

This sounds like a statement from a guy who doesn't work on his own cars and doesn't know what he's talking about.

obd0 has fully programmable software just like obd1.
i guess your running out of ammo. watch out, here comes the 'yo mama jokes'....

you still have Nothing to prove.
15hp gain from a obd1 tune vs. obd0 tune? come on be realistic... at least show us a fake dynos so we can have a good laugh.

What? You suck buddy. Do you even have a clue as to what the difference between obd0 tuning and obd1 tuning?

They run different injectors, so the tuning on the injectors is slightly different, and also OBD1 allows you to tune over 8000rpm, as obd0 only allows you to tune up to 8000rpm, then continues with the last known fuel and timing map until your rev limiter.

A stock A6 can be tuned PROPERLY using OBD0 and running OBD1 would simply be time consuming and costly if your not planning on going crazy. 8PSI of boost is not alot, turboedit+obd0=good enough.

obd1crx, im gonna say this once. It is NOT going to make a 20hp difference. All you are talking about is some extra emissions equipment and yes ill agree
stock vs stock id take obd1. but when you start modifing the car. TRUST ME. obd0 with a piggyback is really the way to go. All that obd1 emissions crap starts setting codes and whatnot. Id stay obd0 and get a piggyback. you decide.

Last I heard, OBD1 and OBD0 had the same codes with the exception of OBD1 having an O2 sensor heater code and on a few of the engines, EGR codes.

Lets take for instance two similar ECU's, an OBD0 PR3 and an OBD1 P30. Please, tell us, what "emissions crap" starts setting off codes by switching to OBD1? The conversion is as simple and a jumper harness, distributor, and ecu.

I think he has his OBD I and II mixed up. OBD II is way more of a **** than 0 and I.
