Default 2003 civic EX motor D17A2 in an 89 hatchback! leave it its real!!!!!!!

This post is not done be patience heres the picts and some of the replays that I was replying to before they closed the post!

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by Slebidia &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">First I'm going to call BS. You ask a question like this : https://honda-tech.com/zerothread/1974596 yet you can complete this swap? Doubtful.

Second: Congratulations, you've swapped in one of the worst motors Honda ever produced into one of the best chassis that Honda ever produced. </TD></TR></TABLE>

First off get your facts straight. worst engine in a Honda? remember the Honda passport/isuzu rodeo?? There’s many more too you should look in to that before you make a statement like that! I will agre with what you said about the EF tho. Heres some picts ill have vids later!

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by STREETWERKZ &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">this just in.....

still, nobody cares. not yesterday, not tomorrow.

</TD></TR></TABLE>

awww is some one upset? do you need a hug? i take that back. you should eather stop posting negitive sh*t or stop posting on here and learn something!
i wouldint say **** to you about a swap that you were proud of and took hella time on so seriously dude!

Here you go! The cars a little dirty lol. i didn’t drive it for like 4 months. Lol

Heres a pict of the stamp

This its what I had to do with the header( the bracketabove the header theres still a little leak) the EGR valve plate( under the distributor) and what I had to do with the coolant and radiator hoses.

Heres the spacer I had to make because of the spacers between the intake ports. This motor had a spacer between the head and the intake manifold that hat the injectors on it. This replaced it.

You can also see it here.

The full shot!

Heres my brothers 91 integra it has a 95 GSR, YS1 built tranny and every bolt on possible its fast no doubt about that it ran a 13.83 at sac race way he got me by a car. Ive never taken it to the track yet. Stop hating! Ill have vids of it soon too. Later tonight ill have a full description of the swap every thing I did. Thanks to the supports and down with the haters!!

Weird as ****, but cool none-the-less. If you could un-ghettofy it, it would probably be respected.

Im in the process of fixing it up. I sold it to my friend and he didn’t pay for all of it so I gave him back what money he gave me and ive started fixing it back to the way it was when I had it. It still needs to be cleaned up but it runs great. Ill have a video soon. And the description of the entire swap tonight.

So whats the pros of this over say a z6/y8. I dont feel like looking up the specs. But i would think a z6 would be better a little more after market for it.

waste of $$.

Spending all the time/fab needed to make it work, just for what? a plastic IM and no aftermarket support.

Also... What did u swap? just the blocks? that picture is definately not a d17a2 head... if u wanted to swap blocks for the HUGE .1L increase of a d16, then y not just swap the crank?

theres obviously a few different mind set here.

one. people like to mod and make it faster
two. a technical challenge to see if it can be done
three. curiosity.

i seriously dont think everyone on here has a mind set of "add ons and after market support"

not everyone want's to go fast. and some just do it for a hobby.

comments like that should be kept to yourself. what good is it trowing it out there?

some people like to spend the time and thots into things that they like doing - a hobby. just like everyone else in here.

i'd be damn if a day comes and someone told me "that was a waste of $$$$"
till im married that is

I'm the same guy in the other thread that got locked..

That's not even a d17a2 head..I know because I have a 02 civic ex for my daily driver,,the radiator hoses on the block are completly different then yours,,,and I don't recall ever seeing a place to mount any distributor...

I dont know man,it looks like a d17a2 with d16y8 head,,(if that's possible)

But either way,if it runs good and your happy who gives a ****

that is 100% NOT a d17 head. As d17's do not have a distributor.

And as far as i know, you cannot! match a d17 block with a d16 head, or it would have been done MANY times before.

if u did match a d16 head ona d17 block, PLEASE share the secret because everyone wants to know how.

JUST for everyone's knowledge, this is a d17a2.

While this is a d16

I dont know much about the d17. But the placement of the water neck is not of a d16. At least non that i have work on. But i could be mistaken.

Also did you use a cable d transmission. It bolted up fine?

the reason i posted in the other threads, was because you got ahead of yourself on the tech and just posted a, "hey look at me". there was no tech, no photos, nothing.

but now that i see photos, i'm speechless. that **** is dog ugly.

that thing has got to run like doo-doo. not to mention, it isnt an EF9, so change your sig.

your other threads got locked, and i think this one will be too.
