suspension setup on sfwd car!
I am trying to get an idea on how to dial in my suspension for my car. Anything I should particularly pay attention too when seting it up. What camber, toe, blah blah blah should I be aiming for to help with applying power to the ground? Its a coupe pushing right around 800whp. thanks guys.
If you search around, there has been a few people before to ask about suspension set ups. As far as actual springs rates and dampening, alot of cars have excellent luck with the omnipower drag coilover kits.
first of all .... do a search -- this has been talked about time and time again..
...after that -- test, test, test, and do some more testing -- read some good road racing setup books on weight transfer, corner weighting, spring rates, and dampening and then put it into practice for your FWD drag car -- all the information you need is out there -- just do the leg work and get your answers...
...or do the hunt / ballard method...ground controls and tokico blues and drive the **** out of it
...i should say the ferguson method too -- whatever was on the car he made work

Thats how i do it. I have a very cheap suspension setup that is about 4 years old. lol. non adjustable tokico's and ground controls. I have picked up the most ET by playing with different front end alignment settings.
yeah i have the omnipower drag coilovers. But i was looking for a little explination on what to pay attention too. I have no one around to help me in any way.
And to the Innes guy, unless you know some magic trick i dont...I did do a sfwd suspension setup search...I used the red button and searched all possible ways it could be made into a title and none of them went into any kind of explination.

well, i highly doubt any of the front runners in the class are going to hand you all the information you need on a silver platter -- it took us a lot of time and effort to figure it out ourselves, just practice and test as much as you can different setups -- that is the best route to learn

Here's a hint if you have no clue as to do with suspension. Adjust front camber to grant maximum slick surface contact to the tarmac under maximum acceleration (nose up/*** down).
Like James said... get out there and test. What works for you won't always work for the next guy. A simple boost controller change could impact your suspension setup.

How do you know if you have the maximum contact patch...by changing camber and such to see how times improve etc etc?
