Default Mike's Intro and His Car

Hey guys, my name is Mike. I've had this ol' CRX for about 2 years now. I bought it from a buddy who another friend got it from another friend. Anyhow I got the car with a good interrier which due to more use as a good daily driver is starting to show some wear (my driver side seat is sad...). If you look close you'll see some dings. It's just my look that I get the car and within two weeks have door dings on both sides of the car from idiots who don't know how to open their doors (much less park!).

I just did a swap over the last few weeks to a D15B7 and got all setup with some VTEC action! I used the RyWire setup and I must say that crap is great! I'm currently trying a Boomslang harness on another car that hopefully I'll have up on here letting everyone know how well that went. I'm also running a Tenebe exhaust with a DC sports 4->1 one piece ceramic header. Right now I have a makeshift short ram intake, but I plan on fixing that soon... The car is lowered about a inch and a half running 450lbs springs up front and 350lbs in the rear. I have a suspension tech 7/8" rear sway bar to give the car some oversteer. Other various niceties are short shifter, poly bushings in the shift linkage, and those del sol (?) rims (next to go when I do some suspension work).

On my list of things to do (in approx. order of how I want to do it) are to get some AGX suspension going on, wheels and tires, various body fixing with a paint job (fix or plug sun roof, fix corner markers, and bumper droopiness), and then for the finale ~10psi boost with chrome/uberdata tune. Hopefully over the next 6-9 months I can achieve most of that.

Anyhow, on with the pics!

Let me know what ya'll think!

Eh, its a Tanabe racing exhaust. It kinda looks a bit ricy but it's 2 1/2" mandral bent stainless steel. There are two resonators in it to make the tone much deeper. Let me just say that this thing is one of the best exhausts I've ever heard on an import.

A buddy of mine got one and it nearly sold me off the bat just on the exhaust note. After looking around on some forums and googling I found that it gave pretty good numbers on the dyno. I got it and I've never really regretted it. I will admit it is a bit loud after about 4500rpms but at that point what exhaust isn't. I've heard they can be cop magnets but I haven't had any problems.

Like I said it is a "race" exhaust so it doesn't sound like somebody put a bunch of angry hornets in a coffee can. Even a couple of my non-car tuning buddies like it.

"VTEC action"? I thought you said it was a d15b7? If it is you don't have vtec.

It says D15B on the block. I assumed it was a D15B7. Its a JDM engine. I just finished up the swap two weekends ago. My craptastic camera fades out the markings on the block during the day. I'll see if I can get a better picture this evening (and if I don't hit the 5 post max ).

Ya, you are correct. I did a bit of research by looking at the other block I had. The guy before me replaced the blown up 1.6L with his D15B7 from his '95 Civic when he did his B16 swap. I put in the JDM D15B. Sorry for the confusion on my part. I can be a misinformed idiot.
